Welcome

WELCOME TO THE HOME of US pétanque on the Internet, the FPUSA website. We're glad you found us and hope you'll enjoy exploring these pages about the sport we love. On this site you will learn about the history of the game, the rules, and how to play. We'll show you where to find a local group of pétanque players and how to become a member of the FPUSA, the National Pétanque League, and where to go to participate in Regional and National Tournaments. We'll give you resources to sharpen your skills and improve your enjoyment of the sport.
Above all, we'll introduce you to a game the entire family can play together, and share with others, where differences in age, gender, or fitness are unimportant. It's a relatively easy game to play. You'll likely pick up the rudiments in an afternoon; nonetheless, it's an oft repeated truth that pétanque is a sport that takes a few minutes to learn and a lifetime to master. In sum the game of pétanque will usually surprise you, never bore you, and more often than not leave you with a smile.
